About GUG I PTO
The GUG I PTO collaborates with school staff and families to support all students. All GUG I parents and guardians of current students are automatically members of the PTO. No membership form is necessary.

Objectives
- To support the administration, teachers, and families in fulfilling the mission of the school.
- To improve communication between home, school, parents, and teachers.
- To help all school children reach their potential by working in partnership with teachers and administrators.
- To encourage parent participation in the activities of the school.
- To provide information on ways parents can be involved with their child’s learning.
- To have membership in the organization that is representative of the diversity of GUGCS.
- To embrace English Language Learners and cultural diversity in our school and organization.
- To promote unity within the school.
- To facilitate the positive interaction between the school and the community.
- To assist Teacher Representatives in the effective and meaningful communication to all PTO Members of the GUGCS curriculum, units of study, and academic goals.
- To enhance the school’s mission with activities, events and choices that support a green culture.

100% of the funds raised by the GUGCS PTO go directly to the school for programs such as Explore & Discover Time, enriching field trips to many of the places that make NYC a great place to learn, supplies and important capital improvements.
